That the reason so many clear thinking, rational conservative are so unhappy with the election because it turns out there is no point to carefully considering the positions of the various candidates to select one most compatible with your one's own views. There is 15% of the population, 95% of which that votes for the candidate with the same color skin. So give them what they want, good and hard.

Give the people what they want, good and hard
As HL Mencken once said. The Democrats want to tax the rich, how about something like this: 90% tax on contractural compensation in excess or likely to be in excess of $500,000 for a finite deliverable like an athletic season, a concert tour, motion picture, a book or a season of television programs. At some point, you have made enough money. And repeal the Eisenhower tax cuts!

I passed through Minneapolis this week and was so impressed by the friendliness of the people. It was such an enjoyable experience after having spent so much time inside the Beltway and in Southern California. So I just wanted to say, thank you. And Go Vikings!

LTC Dooley 's thesis
Dooley's thesis is pretty unremarkable. People who hold the view that they are superior by virtue of their race, culture or religion need to be disabused of that notion or the notion will propagate. What made Germany and Japan into the pacifist allies of the US they now are? Engagement? Diplomacy? Nope. You kill enough of them and break enough of their stuff so that those who remain realize their ideology is a loser.

A Pack of Clueless Dopes
That is what Bryan Preston calls the President and his Economic Advisors. I think he is being too charitable. I want to believe there is some kind of malevolent force behind the terrible job numbers but then I fall back on Hanlon's razor. "Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence." Thus back to Preston's description.
By the way, what lead to the apt description of the Prez and the boys? This:

Greetings, Internauts
I am back, but probably not for long. I was re-reading some of these posts, and thought it would be fun to put something new up here. But, we shall see. I do have a new fascination with the Wild Wild West TV show from the 60's which you can review at this website, and I have been watching a lot of Turner Classic Movies whilst listening to Texas Rangers baseball on the internet. Life is good.

Razing Neighborhoods!
An idea whose time has come!
I will go one step farther, if the Federal government made it a policy to raze any foreclosed property it owns (Thanks, Freddy and Fannie!), with the intent of creating a little green space, a mini-National Park where an abandoned house once stood, then the remaining houses would increase in value not only because razing shrinks inventory, but also because all the adjacent national parks could never be built on! Also, imagine all the teenagers you could hire to plant thinks and spread mulch. All those toxic liabilities then become of communal green assets.
To further appeal to Obama, put his name on a brown national park sign in front of each new mini-park. "This Obama Land is Your Land!"
